ability“能力，能耐，本领”。“有能力做某事”应表达为the ability to do sth，而the ability of doing sth.是错误的表达
inability“无能”，例I can’t understand his inability in figuring out the math problems.我无法理解他这种在数学上的无能。
enable“使能够”，有两个搭配：1 enable sth. 例：The conference will enable greater（进一步） international cooperation.这个会议可以进一步增进国际间的合作。2 enable sb. to do sth,例：A rabbit’s large ears enable it to hear the slightest sound.兔子非常大的耳朵可以听到最轻微的声音。This dictionary can enable you to understand English words.字典能够使你了解英语单词。
